Alexa Allen is a Seattle local and has been with BHD for over three years. Alexa’s background in our accounting department made her transition into her executive assistant role seamless. Alexa excels in organizing with clients in mind. Outside of work, Alexa enjoys spending time with friends in the Los Angeles area.
Sonya Baker
Firm Administrator
Sonya Baker has been the Firm Administrator at Brothers Henderson Durkin since 2020. From accounting and HR to marketing, facilities, and technology, she’s the go-to person for making sure everything is running smoothly. With over 30 years of experience managing mid-sized law firms in Seattle, Sonya brings a wealth of knowledge and a knack for organization. Sonya is dedicated to creating a well-supported, and welcoming firm.
Caroline Bell
Client Services/Marketing Coordinator
Caroline Bell joined the firm in 2021 following her graduation from the University of Alabama and relocation to Seattle. Caroline is dedicated to understanding each client personally and connecting them with the team. In her free time, Caroline enjoys reading and traveling with her husband, Sam.
Olivia Jewell
Receptionist
Olivia Jewell joined BHD in 2024 following graduation from Western Washington University. With a degree in sociology and experience with legal advocacy outreach, she excels at connecting with each and every client. Olivia was born and raised in Seattle and enjoys spending time with her local family and her cat, Fig.
Lisa Nobis
Accounts Payable & Billing Coordinator
Lisa Nobis returned to accounting support in law, work she’d previously performed, after a decade-plus adventure as a certified birth doula. She was drawn to BHD because of the firm’s area of focus and enjoys working with our talented attorneys and staff. Outside of work she recharges with family hikes, good books and snuggling up to Islay, the English Lab who makes appearances at the office.
Ashley Ortega
Executive Assistant to Chris Henderson and Katrina Durkin
Ashley Ortega is recent addition to BHD and brings with her over 9 years’ worth of experience in guardianship, probate, and estate planning. A Texas native, Ashley has a degree in history from the University of Texas at Arlington and enjoys applying those writing skills to every practice area and task. Ashley is the youngest of five siblings and enjoys connecting with her family through cooking and sharing recipes. She also enjoys horseback riding and basketball, especially when rooting for the Dallas Mavericks!
Julia Palaeologus
Legal Assistant
Julia Palaeologus comes to BHD from Washington State University and brings with her a background in the healthcare recruiting. Her experience has proven integral to her work with hospital guardianship matters. Originally from California, Julia brought with her a love of hiking and discovered a passion for pickleball. She has recently started a cookbook and enjoys sharing her recipes in the office.
Megan Poshia
Accounting Manager
Megan Poshia has been with BHD since July 2023. She brings a diverse background as CFO for a tech startup and Fiscal Manager for a Washington School District. Megan’s passion for numbers led her to a degree in Business Management from Eastern Washington University. When not accounting, Megan enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband on their motorcycles.
Rory Yoakum
Legal Assistant
Rory Yoakum joined BHD in 2024 as a legal assistant working within our trust and guardianship reporting practice. A recent graduate of the University of Washington, Rory has a background in family law and healthcare legislation related to her coursework in Microbiology. Outside of work, Rory enjoys photography, swimming, reading, and baking.
